Shen Zhenwen, Secretary General of Guangdong Solar Energy Association, delivered an opening speech at Qunyinghui. He stated that with the gradual widening of the peak valley difference in electricity prices in various regions of Guangdong, it is possible to achieve two charging and two discharging, making industrial and commercial energy storage more economical and investment valuable. Guangdong is the largest province in terms of economy and electricity consumption in China, and also one of the provinces with the largest electricity "gap" in the country. The continuous growth of electricity demand and the large peak valley price difference are the main reasons for the rapid development of industrial and commercial energy storage in Guangdong. In the future, enterprises should continue to invest further in distributed photovoltaics+energy storage, virtual power plants, energy sharing communities, new financing, and business models. Zhang Jianing, Policy Research Manager of Zhongguancun Energy Storage Industry Technology Alliance, stated that as of now, nearly 30 provinces/cities in China have formulated policies related to demand response, and multiple regions have opened up demand response markets. Energy storage can participate in demand response as a subject, with various forms of participation including independence, load aggregators, virtual power plants, etc. The main types of energy storage subsidies include discharge subsidies, capacity subsidies, investment subsidies, and industry subsidies. Many regions have formulated industry support policies around high-quality industrial development to accelerate the landing of energy storage industrialization projects. In the future, with the continuous deepening of market-oriented reforms in the electricity market, many regions will incorporate energy storage, load aggregators, virtual power plants, and other third-party independent entities into the scope of electricity market entities to fully utilize flexible and adjustable resources. This will further accelerate the participation of user side energy storage in the electricity market and improve profitability. Li Zuyun, Energy Storage Director of Huaji Investment Holdings (Guangdong) Co., Ltd., stated that industrial and commercial energy storage provides revenue through peak valley price differences, demand management, demand side response, power auxiliary projects, dynamic capacity expansion, and other methods. Under various favorable conditions such as the anxiety of power rationing driving the demand for backup electricity, high electricity prices for high energy consuming enterprises, and the gradual release of good signals from the industrial and commercial energy storage market, industrial and commercial energy storage is demonstrating its core competitiveness.
