1、 Project Name: Key Technologies and Applications for Safe and Reliable Operation of Power Electronic Converters II. Nominated by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission III. Project Introduction: The reliability of power electronic power converters is related to the reliability of each component of the converter. The survey and statistical results of the EPSRC funded project in the UK on the reliability of power converters in the industrial field show that the failure rate of semiconductor devices in converters accounts for 34%, which is one of the most prone components to failure in converters. The power converter applied in the field of high reliability is prone to thermal fatigue aging during operation due to the uneven electrical and thermal stress caused by the fluctuation of the processed power, intermittent working conditions, and changes in the working environment. Supported by projects such as the National Natural Science Foundation of China and school enterprise cooperation, this project has conducted in-depth research on the failure mechanism of power devices, power cycle accelerated aging test methods, online extraction methods for key fatigue aging failure characteristic quantities, non-invasive inverter state monitoring methods based on end electric heating characteristic quantities, and active thermal management control strategies considering life consumption at multiple time scales. A reliable operation and status monitoring method for power converters has been invented from a new perspective of accelerated aging testing, non-invasive online monitoring, and thermal balance management.
